Tulsa's one and only

Be Le Vegetarian Restaurant
6634 S Lewis Ave, Tulsa - (918) 499-1414

First I want to say that if a restaurant is closed after lunch and before dinner and you walk in and are seated and served in an empty restaurant you get a point or two for customer service right off the bat.

Second, the service. Well, the kid waiting on us wasn't very talkative and wasn't as helpful as a grownup might have been but then again, he wasn't the one who had made the decision to open the restaurant during his down time.

The food, well, it was good. Not great but good solid Asian food. I'm finishing this up a month after I ate there and the notes I wrote right after are in a very secure hiding place at this time.

The meat substitutes were good. They had excellent mouthfeel but my only complaint is that they were cut into very flat, very small pieces...like 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. I like to sink my teeth into the protein so this was a bit disappointing.

Please support Be Le who is a charming older woman who is resigned to retiring unless someone steps up to the plate to take over the restaurant. At least that is what I deciphered through her heavily accented English.

So eat here, make it a very successful restaurant and let Tulsa's only Vegetarian restaurant survive.
